Ibiza takes my breath away. This island is beautiful, fun and fashionable. It has a mix of beach relaxation, good food, shopping and night life. There is something for everyone. I loved this adventure. It felt like an easy way to have it all in a short getaway. I spent about 5 days here and tried to see as much as I could in those days. Our whole family was sad to leave on the last day.
One thing I will mention is that it is really helpful to rent a car. We ended up with a fun jeep to drive around in. Ibiza is spread out so to have some exploring freedom I thought it was essential to have my own transportation. Getting a taxi of some kind is a bit tough and not very frequent. There are also buses available but they take time to come.
Where to stay?
Oku – I stayed at this hotel and loved it. It was located about 20 minutes from the airport by car. It is a lovely option for a nice relaxing stay. There are 2 pools in the hotel. One is a family pool and one is an adult pool. The adult pool has a dj station where there are set evening times that a dj is playing cool vibes to start your pre- dinner fun. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers a fabulous breakfast each morning with fresh and healthy options.
Cotton Beach Club – this is a beautiful spot overlooking gorgeous views of the water. You can opt to stay here, spend a beach day here or come for a nice dinner here. There are many options for this fabulous place. The restaurant I ate at here was great and they had on site masseuses giving neck and shoulder massages to you at your table while you eat. What can be better.
What to do?
There are so many things to do in Ibiza. You will never have trouble finding new places to go to. The options for beaches and beach clubs are great here. We had fun exploring some of the many options.
CBbC – The is a great beach club to spend the whole day and evening at. As with all the beach clubs, it is a chill sun soaking experience by day and it gets more of a louder music and party vibe by night. There are sometimes live musicians playing as well.
Nikki Beach – This is a cool beach club that is more of a pool and created beach/ restaurant vibe and not as much of a real beach experience. I really like this as well for a different take on beach club.
Experimental – Beautiful restaurant/ beach club with a fun vibe and great music.
A great thing to do while in Ibiza is to take a boat and go to Formentera for a day trip. You can spend time swimming in clear water and then having lunch on the small beautiful Island. I would recommend having lunch at Es Ministre.
Where to eat?
Che Kee Wun – Open air restaurant with an Asian flair and fun vibrant vibe. Service was great and food was good. There was a fun atmosphere for a chill evening vibe.
Cala Gracioneta – Great beach vibe with a great lunch spot. This can be your lunch outing or a fun beach day with a meal included. The food was fresh and yummy
Bambuddha – The food at this restaurant was great and memorable. Each dish had unique flavors that were tasty and satisfying. This place is a must to go to when in Ibiza.
STK – This steakhouse is a fun option if you want some entertainment included with your meal. they have a stage with short performances from dancers to singers to theatre acts. As an added bonus, there are masseuses walking around to give you neck and shoulder massages while you eat. Fun place after a a busy day on the Island.
La Oliva – fabulous little restaurant in the heart of Old Town Ibiza. There is a lot of activity and energy surrounding this restaurant. I loved the charm of it all!
Where to shop?
Shopping is fun with lots of variety in Ibiza. here are a few of the many places to explore.
Old Town- This is a must explore. The streets are windy and quaint with shops, restaurants and ice cream shops. You can get lost in the little streets walking around and taking in the atmosphere. I really enjoyed this experience and our kids loved it as well. You can find all kinds of treasures in this place.
Marina Ibiza – For Luxury shopping, there is a location near the marina with a nice area to walk around. If you are there in the early evening, you can catch the beautiful evening sunset.
I cant wait to return to this gem of a place someday!
